The NBA’s resident doctor, Julius “Dr. J” Irving is the latest NBA icon to release a PSA and receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Previous messages included Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Gregg Popovich, and Bill Russell.

“This is Julius “Dr. J” Erving. One thing I have in common with some of the other Hall of Famers is we’re never afraid to take the big shot. And today is no different. I’m getting vaccinated for my family, my friends and my community. Let’s do this together. For more information on the vaccines, visit CDC.gov,” Dr. J said.

The vaccine was given to Dr. J just days after he turned 71-years-old.
