In a searingly honest chat, the mum-of-five told Annie Mac her life has changed following a stint at The Priory last year, which has helped her understand the various traumas in her life.

Speaking on the Changes with Annie Macmanus podcast, she explained: “My thing that’s always been wrong in my life is men. That is from an early age.

“I was raped as a kid. At seven. That is in my first book. I was in a park.”

Katie has previously recalled being sexually assaulted at such a young age and said how it had impacted her life choices.

Now she has recalled other incidents, which have led her to have therapy, including growing close to a photographer who took indecent pictures of her when she was just 12.

She said: “And then I got involved with this photographer who ended up being in prison.

“He was obsessed with me. He took indecent photographs that I thought were innocent at the time. I was 12.

“He made me do pictures where I was sticking my tongue out. They looked young and girly but to him.

“It is sexual. He used to make these milkshakes. I never took one because I didn’t like it.

“That’s what he did he made the girls drink them and he drugged them.”

The traumatic experiences didn’t end there for a young Katie though as she says between getting raped aged seven and being exploited by a photographer “someone tried to get me in their car.”

She added: “My mum has had this constant all the time. My dad left although I can’t remember..

“Subconsciously your mind remembers everything. It is there.
