Carson Wentz is officially out of Philadelphia.

The Eagles traded Wentz to the Colts on Thursday in exchange for a third-round pick this year and a conditional 2022 second-round pick that could turn into a first.

Wentz is coming off the worst season of his young NFL career, which included him getting benched for rookie Jalen Hurts. In 12 starts last season, Wentz completed 251 of 437 passes (57.4 percent) for 2,620 yards, with 16 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.

The Colts have been keeping an eye out for Wentz, from the moment Philip Rivers announced his retirement after the team was eliminated from the playoffs. Their head coach, Frank Reich, was the offensive coordinator in Philadelphia when Wentz had an MVP-caliber season back in 2017. Wentz was reportedly determined to reunite with Reich. Looking from the Colts’ social media feed, the feeling was definitely mutual for a reunion.

If Reich can get the best out of Wentz again, the Colts could be a Super Bowl contender next season with its already loaded roster.
