A FORMER Texas mayoral candidate has boasted about breaking into the Capitol and stealing Nancy Pelosi’s gavel from the speaker’s office.
Jenny Cudd, of Midland, Texas, posted a 25-minute video on Facebook saying that the mob decided to “storm the Capitol” after listening to Donald Trump repeat his baseless claims of election fraud in a speech near the White House.

Cudd expressed a range of emotions in the video[/caption]
“He had way more power and he wasn’t willing to exercise it,” she said.
Condemning the violence that shocked the world, she claimed she had merely wanted to protest with fellow Trump supporters in a “show of solidarity”.
Cudd also broke into a laugh as she claimed the rioters “didn’t vandalize anything at all” but then recalled that “we did break down Nancy Pelosi‘s door”.
“But … as I say that, we did break down Nancy Pelosi’s office door and someone stole her gavel and took a picture sitting in the chair flipping off the camera, and that was on Fox News,” she added.
“Patriots got down on the floor and sitting in the House members’ and the Senators’ chairs.”

She referred to the mob of pro-Trump rioters as a “bunch of red-blooded American patriots that actually give a s–t about our country and keeping it.”
Early on in her video, Cudd tears up as she says, “My heart breaks for my country.”
She filmed the video after the intruders were cleared out of the Capitol on Wednesday – but later claimed that she “did not do anything illegal, vandalize, or hurt anyone” after her clip was widely shared online, according to CBS7.
In a photo, Cudd can be seen among dozens of other flag-waving protesters walking around the Capitol Rotunda, in Washington DC, holding her phone in front of her face.
Cudd ran for mayor of Midland in 2019, losing to Patrick Payton but gaining 15.6 percent of the vote, according to the Midland Reporter-Telegram.

Cudd denied doing anything unlawful Wednesday when reached by the Reporter-Telegram. She also claimed that Antifa members broke through police barriers and assaulted officers before she arrived on Capitol grounds.
Cudd said she took pictures in the rotunda for 15 minutes before leaving.
Asked about Cudd’s involvement in Wednesday’s riots, Payton told the outlet, “It saddens me. And that’s just as far as I’m willing to comment on that. It saddens me.”
